I See Them

Today I met a man like a ballon.

His ego out of proportion blown.

He stood before me with an all-knowing frown.

My sympathetic nerves forced me to yawn.

His head was capped in a dead animal skin.

His shoulders in dead animal leather wrung.

His feet strapped in dead animal leather hung.

I could only feel pity for all the dead animals slain.

Talking of the slain, do you see that young lady with long hair.

Do you see how she twirls it with flair?

Talking of tweak, do you see how she is warped in a snare.

Do you see how beauty so defined by the dead human hair is bare?

They stand before me, wrapped in animal furs and plant materials.

Dead matter on them speaking of animal slaughter squeals.

Dead matter on them speaking of dead crop matter peels.

They stand before me, smarting with egocentric wills.

I see them, beyond the dead wigs and mascara.

Beyond the fake and scary lipstick scars

I see them, perched all squarely.

But beyond it, is empty skins sincerely.

How your distance slays our senses Come back African sun Draw close sweet friend, don't be gloomy I implore you African warmth, without pun Smile again and put the cold to shame

10 REASONS WHY UHURU KENYATTA MAYBE A ONE TERM PRESIDENT

1.       In 2017 Uhuru will be carrying the burden of incumbency and all unfulfilled dreams will be credited to him by Kenyans 2.       If he succeeds to halt The Hague cases or gets them differed, the ICC issue will be a major campaign platform in 2017. However, unlike in 2013 when it worked to his advantage, Kenyans know that ICC trials are no longer a personal matter. Actually, the president is using the country as hostage against ICC onslaught 3.       There is a high possibility of Ruto beginning to feel jitters about his position in Jubilee and the likelihood of being a credible presidential candidate one day. The more time goes by, the more Ruto’s supporters will want more; some excitement, some surprise 4.       There is a likelihood of Uhuru manages to frustrate his case while that of Ruto drags on. The case of Walter Barasa being used by the Deputy President o...

WHY THE CORD REFERENDUM IS POOR STRATEGY

The dance floor is full and cheers from the watching crowd are abundant. Every dancer is pulling his or her best strokes and he or she is sure he or she is attracting the cheers. This dance is colorful, it is exciting and it has sent every tongue wagging either in praise or in jeer. Please Raila, stop the dance! Stop dancing and watch the dance a little more. No don’t just watch so you may jump back into the dance, but so you may decide if the dance is worthy or we should move to another arena. The dance as currently constituted has many armature players or dancers. For the armature player; the focus is on winning the dance by all means. By hook or crook, in the most Machiavelli way possible they are determined to win the dance. The armature players have a toddler mentality or what is referred to as the “Me” syndrome. They do not care about the dance, they are not interested in principles, they care not about values or honor. All they want is to win the dance and all focus t...
